Our Membership
comprises artists at all levels of their professional development. We encourage and support beginners to advanced pastellists. A number of our members are full time professional artists who are only too delighted to share their knowledge with those who seek such assistance. Membership is open to all those who have an interest in the art of soft pastels, whether a painter or a connoisseur of the arts.
- Provision of workshops throughout the year covering a wide range of genre.
- Paint-out days where members meet and seek inspiration together at selected location.
- A bi-monthly newsletter containing information helpful for pastelists.
- A web site showcasing members works.
- Regular exhibition opportunities.
- Monthly meetings where guest artists and other professionals demonstrate and share information relevant to our craft.
- An annual incentive competition where opportunities are provided to win wonderful prizes.
- Pastelist of the Year Award - This is assessed by an independent judge at the end of each year.
- Provision of a membership list to facilitate membership interaction.
- Master Pastelist Members are available to provide personal critiques and assist you with any difficulties you may be experiencing.
- An opportunity to advance from general member status to Master Pastelist status.
- The Society has a comprehensive Library of Videos. These are made available to Members on a monthly basis for a small donation.
- The PSA was established in Brisbane, Queensland, in 1985 and currently boasts an enthusiastic membership of over 200 people
