Exhibitions
Roll out the pastels and prepare your surfaces for your 2010 entry in the PSA Winter Competition 2010. Entrants are limited to one entry and there is no size limit. No size limit for the art works is the exciting development for the artists entering the Pastel Society of Australia Winter Competition 2010 – the year that also marks the 25 year anniversary of the Society’s formation.

Demonstrations:
Inter-State entries have already been received, as well as the first International entry in the competition’s history. The new venue is large enough to accommodate the following demonstrations from members of the Society when the show is open:
Tuesday 8th – Judging by Dr Lindsay Farrell
Wednesday 9th – Penelope Gilbert-Ng - (probably from 1pm to 5pm)
Thursday 10th – Tricia Taylor - seascape from 9am to 4pm
Friday 11th – Joan Macnaught - still life from 10am to 1pm
Monday 14th – Tricia Reust - pastel over mixed media from 9am to 5pm
Tuesday 15th – Margaret Turner - wattle in pastel from 1pm to 5pm
Wednesday 16th – Tricia Reust painting a pastel portrait from life of Ivy Jeffery, founder of PSA, 9.30am to 4pm
Thursday 17th – Terry Wilkinson - skyscape from 1pm to 5pm
Friday 18th – John Thiesfield - floral over oil pastel and turps from 9am to 1pm
Monday 21st – Karol Oakley - water and reflections from 10am to 2pm
Tuesday 22nd – Graham W Smith - landscape from 10am to 2pm
Wednesday 23rd – Cynthia Hargraves - childrens portrait from a photo 9.30am to 4pm
Diary of Dates:
- Entry forms in by 1st June (handed in that evening at the PSA meeting or posted)
- Receipt of works by hand Monday 7th June 8am to noon
- Receipt of couriered works 1st - 5th June
- Official Opening Wednesday 9th June
- Pick up of works Wednesday 23rd June from 2pm to 6pm

The Committee is continuing to search for sponsorship but so far the prizes are:
- "Art Spectrum/Oxlades Award" - $1000 Gift Certificate
- PSA 1st Place Award - $800
- PSA 2nd Place Award - $200
- Art House Direct People's Choice Award - $100
The University Gallery staff will not be responsible for sales of works or raffle tickets, so we will need members to participate in a roster of attendancethoughout the show,
(10am - 4pm daily ) and also, the PSA is responsible for the catering at the opening event.Master Pastellists are particularly requested to offer to demonstrate at least one day during the show, at theGallery
